Water Flavorings! For more than just great taste!!!

Hello Oil loving fans!!

When we first started using oils to flavor our water is was simply a ploy to trick our Autistic son into enjoying water.  He disliked water very much. And would often put up a fuss! 

Someone mentioned Tangerine Oil as a way to flavor his water since he likes juice so well, so we purchased a bottle and tried! What we found was, not only does he drink, and like the oiled up water, but we all LOVE it as well!!!


This led to some exciting experiments with Oils to flavor our water!!  And as I mentioned in the title, what we discovered was that not only do they taste TERRIFIC, but if you are using YOUNG LIVING'S THERAPEUTIC GRADE ESSENTIAL OILS you are also getting some awesome health benefits as A BONUS!! 

It takes no more than 1 to 2 drops per 12 oz of water or more! 

Here are our favorites and why:

  • Tangerine Oil-Uses: Obesity, anxiety, insomnia ect... !!! And the fragrant Influence promotes happiness, calming and helps with nervousness!!!  Taste delicious!!

  • Grapefruit Oil- Anti-tumoral, METABOLIC STIMULANT (my favorite reason for sipping it in my water ;) diuretic, FAT DISSOLVING (my other favorite reason!!!), cleansing the kidneys and helps with anxiety, depression and obesity!!! And so so much more!!!

  • Lemon Oil- Improves memory, relaxation, anti-tumoral, antiseptic.  Uses: parasites, urinary tract infections ect... (This oils helped our daughter to stop drinking soda pop almost 2 years ago!!! In most restaurants there are very little choices for drinks.  With the oils she could at least have a healthier flavored water (and we won't get into healthy water here, that is a much to complex issue!!! )

  • Citrus Fresh Oil-a combo of Orange, Tangerine, Lemon, Grapefruit and Spearmint, best of all the citrus with a minty kick! All the best of the citrus benefits with the Spearmint's blessings of supporting the respiratory, glandular and nervous system. Spearmint brings about a feeling of balance and helps to open emotional blocks!!

  • Peppermint Oil- Oh peppermint!! Wonderful for cooling you down when you are to hot! And for perking you up when you are low!! It is a great Anti-inflammatory and antibacterial and anti fungal. Also, one reason why many people like it, it curbs appetite!!!

  • Orange Oil- Uplifting, antidepressant, anti-tumoral, relaxant ect.... I love the sweet taste of the orange and it boost my mood every time I use it!

Many other Therapeutic Grade oils are "drinkable" but these are our current favorites!!


  There was no way with out maybe putting a few of you to sleep that I could list ALL of the benefits of these oils, so I only highlighted a few that are most important to me!!!!

    My favorite oil to add to water is lemon. Careful not to put it in a styrofoam cup though.

  2. I am so glad that you mentioned not using Styrofoam cups!! Very important! The oils will eat a hole right thru them! I prefer glass to drink out of, but if I am out with a bottle of water I will use stainless steel (which I have had no problems with the oils in) and plastic BPA free.
